SUSPERIA VIDEO PREMIERE
Oslo-based Susperia today premiere their newest video for the song “Character Flaw.” Available for viewing now via YouTube (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2YszUK-_gSw), the Daniel William Bones directed performance video continues the band’s use of apocalyptic imagery as featured on their latest album, Attitude. The video celebrates the return to action of vocalist Athera who was sidelined earlier this year from a near-fatal heart attack that stemmed from a previously undiagnosed heart defect.
Released in May, Attitude was recorded in Norway and mixed at Studio Fredman in Sweden. The album features guest appearances by Chuck Billy (Testament) and Shagrath (Dimmu Borgir). Attitude entered the official Norwegian charts at 28, the band’s highest placement to date. "Ten years and still the same five guys," exclaims vocalist Athera with regards to the band’s long commitment to their music. Working for the first time worldwide with Candlelight Records (previous albums only saw release by the label in the US), bassist Memnock notes. "we now have the backing of one label worldwide and this is going to make life a lot easier for us. And we hope that finally we get to play to our American fans."
Formed in 1998 by drummer Tjodalv (then of Dimmu Borgir) and guitarist Cyrus (then of Satyricon/Old Man’s Child), Susperia released its debut, "Predominance", via Nuclear Blast in 2001. The band's much-acclaimed second album, "Vindication", followed in 2003. After signing with Norwegian label Tabu Records in 2004, the band released its third album, "Unlimited", later that year.
A powerful live act, the band has consistently remained focused to the stage. With numerous high profile support, headline and festival appearances, one of the band's most cherished experiences thus far remains supporting the newly reformed Testament in late 2005. The dates would culminate in the release of the band's Norwegian charting mini-album "Devil May Care", followed by the group's fourth album, "Cut From Stone," in 2007. Unfortunately due to financial constraints two tries to visit the US to support the Daniel Bergstrand-produced album during 2007/08 would set back the album's overall sales target but the band remained committed. Touring Europe including numerous dates with W.A.S.P., the band's ambitions stayed and continue to remain in tact.
Susperia recently completed a run of Norwegian dates; the shows followed the band’s appearance at Norway’s Steinkjer Festival which served as the return of Athera to the stage. Commenting just prior to the June festival Athera noted, "I can't wait to get back on the road again. It's something that at one point I thought I would never experience again, so I'm grabbing this opportunity with both hands."
Attitude is available in stores worldwide. Susperia currently includes guitarists Cyrus and Elvorn, bassist Memnock, with drummer Tjodalv and vocalist Athera. |

Airborne Redux was shot on HD at London's 400 Company alongside the footage to "Unto That End" over a single day filming period. In total contrast to the other video in production, this was to be a totally stripped down affair without CGI wizardry - just the band, a white room and the music.
The "narrative" as such utilises some archive footage of the RAF to set the scene- but it's kept to a minimum to showcase the live members (Elle Torry-guitar James Last-drums, James Murray-guitar) and allow the performances to stand forward alongside the core members ( C.Edward Alexander - vocals, and David Bryan- bass) The largely Ruritarian design costumes are much more an ambiguous departure from the period detail of the band's earlier WW1 stylistics; with the band having left the horrors of the trenches and painting a much broader conceptual canvas hopefully giving the viewer a hint of what IV as an active live unit is all about.

Imperial Vengeance is a British extreme metal act formed in 2007 by C. Edward Alexander (Vocals, Guitars and Orchestration) and David Bryan (Bass, Lyrics).
in an attempt to explore ideas and material firmly rooted in the glory days of the British Empire and presenting a wide range of subjects influenced by its’ colourful social and military histories, theatre, literature and mythologies.
2008 saw the release of the duo’s first endeavour:a self released EP called "Death: August & Royal" and featured the drumming talents of William Drury.
Such was the enthusiastic response to the release, the English gentlemen decided to take the band a step further and alongside the new recruit to the ranks; guitarists Elle Torry (Worms of Sabnock, Everlasting Descent) and James Murray (Shotgun Affair) were invited to complete the live line-up.
In the June of that year June, the band inked a deal with legendary UK label Candlelight Records and spent the rest of the year writing and then recording their debut album: "At The Going Down Of The Sun". Largely written by gas-light, and fuelled by absinthe and cigar smoke, the album contains ten tracks of what the duo term as "Aritocratic Dark Metal" with the title track featuring a specially recorded passage from Harry Patch, who at the age of 110 was the last surviving tommy to have seen combat in the trenches of the Pascendale.
Mixed and mastered by Brett Caldas-Lima and released 20th July 2009, the CD has been attracting considerable attention and very positive reviews.
August 2009 was exceptionally busy for the band, with William Drury making way for new sticks-man James Last, (Korvus) the band filming two promotional videos: Unto That End and Airborne-Redux, and the recording of an EP in which the band cover the classic Madness song " Night Boat To Cairo".
The band is now in rehearsal mode, and preparing to bring the live experience to a battlefield near you. |

Anaal Nathrakh: 'Pandemonic Hyperblast' Live in Birmingham
Anaal Nathrakh was created for one purpose - to be the soundtrack for armageddon, the audial essence of evil, hatred and violence, the true spirit of necro taken to its musical extremes. Since being founded in 1999, the band has gained a reputation for embodying precisely these things, with a history including not only the release of four albums and an EP to rapturous acclaim, but collaborations with such legendary figures as Attila Csihar (Mayhem), Shane Embury and Danny Herrera (Napalm Death), Nick Barker (Testament, Dimmu Borgir), Joe Horvath (Circle of Dead Children), Sethlans Teitan (Watain) and so on. This, alongside appearing on BBC Radio 1 at the personal behest of sadly missed icon John Peel, headlining a stage at the renowned cult Inferno Festival in Norway as their debut international live appearance, countless placings in ‘best album of the year’ polls and album of the month awards in the press and cover appearances on leading magazines such as Terrorizer… Anaal Nathrakh’s status as one of the leading lights in extreme metal is undeniable. Hallmarked by breathtaking musical ferocity, inventiveness and breadth, married with a mercurial, intensely misanthropic and sharp intelligence, Anaal Nathrakh’s sound is imbued with a palpable sense of menace that is virtually unmatched in metal. And as 2009 begins with the world apparently going to wrack and ruin, the band unveil their latest merciless, deranged, schizophrenic album ‘In The Constellation Of The Black Widow’.
