Tiens, ils sont toujours en train de bosser sur leur nouvel album... Rolling Eyes

In a brand new interview with RollingStone.com, AEROSMITH singer Steven Tyler spoke about the progress of the recording sessions for the band's long-awaited new album, which is tentatively due later this year.

AEROSMITH began work on its first all-new album since 2001 last year, with the rest of the band working on music while Tyler made his "American Idol" debut.

The band has been working with producer Jack Douglas, who collaborated with them on classic early albums like "Toys In The Attic" and "Rocks".

"We're gonna have a vintage sound, 'cause we're going to tape and a lot of good things like that," Tyler told RollingStone.com. "We're keeping tracks lean, not a lot of overdubs, and like I said, we're using Jack to his fullest. So you're gonna hear some stuff where you might think AEROSMITH's back."

He added, "I'm having such a good time writing again. You got the songs right now where they're like shells, with no lyrics and no melody, and I get to fill in the blanks like I did with 'Back In The Saddle' when it was just a track."

AEROSMITH guitarist Joe Perry recently revealed via Twitter that the band will embark on a U.S. tour in June. Tickets will go on sale in March. Exact cities and dates will be announced during the coming weeks.

In a recent interview with the QMI Agency, Perry stated about AEROSMITH's new material, "It definitely has a feel like some of the early stuff. We've tried to bring that back. People are always asking for something that sounds like the old stuff, but you can't rewrite 'Mama Kin' or 'Same Old Song And Dance'. All you can do is go in and start from the same place you started when you made those records. So we just went in with (producer) Jack Douglas and we all worked on the record. There's a song or two that the band helped write, and Tom (Hamilton, bass) wrote and Brad (Whitford, guitar) has a track on there. So from that point of view, it's a lot more like an early AEROSMITH record. We were all in the room when we were pulling these songs together and recording them. Every way that we used to make our records, that's what we did to get this to where it is. Right down to what we're doing now, which is going over the tracks and bringing them up to speed. Steven [Tyler] is finishing up the lyrics and we're just going to put the finishing touches on it."

AEROSMITH will release its long-awaited 15th studio album, "Music From Another Dimension", on August 28 via Columbia Records. The first song to be made available from the CD is a reworked version of the band's 1991 outtake "Legendary Child", which was originally written during the "Get A Grip" sessions. The track, which can be streamed below, will also be included in the upcoming film "GI Joe: Retaliation", the release of which has now been pushed back to March 2013.

AEROSMITH performed "Legendary Child" earlier tonight (Wednesday, May 23) on the season finale of "American Idol".

"Music From Another Dimension" track listing:

01. What Could Have Been Love
02. Beautiful
03. Street Jesus
04. Legendary Child
05. Oh Yeah
06. We All Fall Down
07. Another Last Goodbye
08. Out Go the Lights
09. Love Three Times a Day (Hello Goodbye)
10. Closer
11. Shakey Ground
12. Lover A Lot
13. Freedom Fighter
14. Up On The Mountain

AEROSMITH began work on its first all-new album since 2001 last year, with the rest of the band working on music while singer Steven Tyler made his "American Idol" debut.

"Music From Another Dimension" is being helmed by producer Jack Douglas, who previously worked with AEROSMITH on classic early albums like "Toys In The Attic" and "Rocks" as well as on 2004's "Honkin' On Bobo".

"This record is different from the recent past, say the last 20 years, where everybody is getting in the studio and throwing down their songs," guitarist Joe Perry recently told Billboard.com. "This record is a lot more band-written stuff than there has been in the recent past."

AEROSMITH's "The Global Warming" tour will kick it off on June 16 at the Target Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota and wrap up on August 8 in Tacoma, Washington.

"This tour, in addition to a couple songs we know we're going to play from the new record, we want to bring out songs we just haven't played for years," Perry told Billboard.com. "We'll be playing some of those — songs that were staples in the sets back in the old days that will be new songs to a lot of people if they don't know the albums."

Trailer: http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=otntBKCvDpc

On November 6, AEROSMITH — Steven Tyler (vocals), Joe Perry (guitar), Brad Whitford (guitar), Tom Hamilton (bass) and Joey Kramer (drums) — will release "Music From Another Dimension" on Columbia Records. It marks the band's 15th studio album and their first studio collection of all-new material in 11 years. The album was recorded in Los Angeles and at the band's studio in Massachusetts; it was produced by Jack Douglas, Steven Tyler and Joe Perry, with the exception of three tracks produced by Tyler and Marti Frederiksen.

"Music From Another Dimension"'s first two singles have been released simultaneously to radio this week. "What Could Have Been Love" is now impacting at Hot AC and "Lover A Lot" at Rock, Active Rock, and Classic Rock. The album features 15 new tracks, including two songs that audiences in North America were treated to on the first leg of the band's triumphant, sold-out "Global Warming Tour".

"Music From Another Dimension" presents AEROSMITH in ferociously fine form and at the peak of their powers. They're the only band of their stature with all-original members and who are playing better than ever have before. The album abounds with one highlight after another, including "Out Go The Lights", "Oh Yeah", "Luv XXX", "We All Fall Down", "Street Jesus" and "Can't Stop Loving You", on which Tyler duets with Carrie Underwood. The album also includes "Freedom Fighter", which features Johnny Depp on backing vocals.

AEROSMITH wrapped their U.S. tour August 12 in Bristow, Virginia. The dates included the band's triumphant, sold-out return to the legendary Hollywood Bowl (August 6) in Los Angeles, where Depp joined the band onstage. A new leg of fall dates will soon be announced to support the release of "Music From Another Dimension".

"It's not that it took ten years," Steven Tyler says, "but that we were busy getting ready!"

"This is the album we wanted to make since the band got back together in 1984," Joe Perry says. "Can't complain about number one singles or album-driven sold-out world tours, as we blaze the AEROSMITH trail with our fans. But this is the record that when the five of us are in a room yelling turn up the volume, that room could be 1325 Commonwealth Avenue (a reference to the band's first apartment where they lived and wrote their first song)."

A deluxe version of "Music From Another Dimension" will include:

* Four live performance videos: "Rats In The Cellar", "Train Kept A Rollin'", "Oh Yeah" and "Same Old Song and Dance"

* Exclusive interviews with the members of AEROSMITH bandmembers

* Three exclusive new bonus tracks: "Up On A Mountain", "Oasis" and "Sunny Side of Love"

The "Music From Another Dimension" track listing is as follows:

01. Luv XXX
02. Oh Yeah
03. Beautiful
04. Tell Me
05. Out Go The Lights
06. Legendary Child
07. What Could Have Been Love
08. Street Jesus
09. Can't Stop Loving You
10. Lover A Lot
11. We All Fall Down
12. Freedom Fighter
13. Closer
14. Something
15. Another Last Goodbye

Ils sortent un DVD live enregistré au Japon juste après le tsunami.

AEROSMITH - Rock For The Raising Sun ~ Trailer

In March 2011, Japan was beset by a huge earthquake, a monstrous tsunami and the subsequent meltdown of the Fukushima nuclear plant. In the autumn of 2011, despite advice to the contrary, AEROSMITH brought their "Back On The Road" tour to Japan, a country with which they'd always had a special relationship. The Japanese fans came out in their droves and AEROSMITH responded with some of the finest gigs of their distinguished career.

"Rock For The Rising Sun" follows the band on that tour combining full-length live tracks with behind-the-scenes footage which is at times touching and emotional and at others humorous and insightful. More than anything else it demonstrates the Japanese fans' love affair with AEROSMITH and their music.

AEROSMITH singer Steven Tyler wrote on Facebook about the movie: "Hey, ya'll…How 'bout sum of our new movie!!! 2 start ur day or nite. Can't wait for u to see it."

"Rock For The Rising Sun" was directed by Casey Patrick Tebo, and combines live performance material with behind-the-scenes footage that shows the nation coping with the destruction. The movie is due for release on DVD and Blu-ray in June.

Citation:
AEROSMITH's latest concert film, "Rock For The Rising Sun", will be released via Eagle Rock Entertainment on July 23. The group's connection with Japan began in 1977, when the band first played to capacity crowds in the Far East. And as evidenced by "Rock For The Rising Sun", the band-fan bond remains strong to this day. The director behind the release, Casey Patrick Tebo, is well-versed in not only his 'SMITH (he directed their music video for "Legendary Child"), but has also worked with such renowned acts as MÖTLEY CRÜE, JUDAS PRIEST, STEVIE NICKS, LADY ANTEBELLUM, THE AVETT BROTHERS, and RUN-DMC, among countless others.

Tebo first began working with AEROSMITH in 2006, when Steven Tyler and Tebo met through a colleague, and the singer invited the up-and-coming director (who was in film school at the time) to shoot a few of the band's shows — for just the band's personal viewing. Soon after, the band was so impressed with Tebo's work that they hired him to start directing their live shows.

Fast forward to 2011, and AEROSMITH was hard at work on their 15th studio album, "Music From Another Dimension!", but took a break from recording to play shows in Latin America and Japan. Sadly, the Japanese dates occurred not long after tragedy struck the region, as the country experienced a massive earthquake, a monstrous tsunami, and the subsequent meltdown of the Fukushima nuclear plant.

Despite warnings about possibly being exposed to radiation, AEROSMITH and crew, including Tebo, braved the risks and followed through with their visit to Japan. "I shot all this stuff and interviewed all these fans, and realized there is a love affair between AEROSMITH and the Japanese fans that was like nothing I'd ever seen," states Tebo. "It was almost like AEROSMITH was there helping people heal."

What Tebo was able to create is a film that not only captures AEROSMITH at their rocking best, but also, shows the group's human side away from the spotlight. "I captured all this stuff, and when I got home to the States, I was like, 'I know I can make something of this, I'm just going to start putting something together,'" states Tebo. "While Steven and Joe were in L.A., making an album with Jack Douglas, I rented out a theater, and emailed Steven and Joe, saying, 'I need you guys to come to this theater. I've got to show you something.' I played them the whole movie, and when the movie was over, Joe stood up, walked over to me, hugged me, and was like, 'That was f-ing amazing, unbelievable.' And Steven was really emotional as well."

Tebo is confident that "Rock For The Rising Sun" matches up well to AEROSMITH's earlier classic home video releases. "There was a part of me — as a fan — loving these guys and seeing them live, that said, 'Man, I would love other people to see this as well,'" he says. Soon, fans will get to experience the legendary AEROSMITH through the revealing lens of Casey Patrick Tebo.

"Steven and Joe once taught me a great lesson in life, it’s called 'Dare to Suck' — it means, if you don't have the balls to just go and do something, then you'll never know what great thing you might have missed out on. This movie was my 'Dare to Suck' moment."

Tebo is currently in pre-production on his first narrative feature film, and has since directed other large-scale television productions, most recently CMT's "Crossroads".

"Rock For The Rising Sun" track listing:

Aerosmith guitarist Brad Whitford has stated that the band “missed the mark” with last year’s album Music From Another Dimension.

At time of release it was hailed as a landmark achievement in the band’s history. It was their first since their near-split in 2009 after relationships broke down between frontman Steven Tyler and his colleagues. It was also the first time in years that the band hadn’t hired outside songwriters.

A year after its launch to lower-than-anticipated sales, Whitford tells VH1 (via Blabbermouth): “We have a lot of issues with the last record now.

“We feel like we missed the mark a little bit. I’m not quite sure what we would have done differently, but we feel like we should have done something.”

He says Aerosmith had “a good time” recording their 15th studio album but continues: “I don’t know if the material really translated.

“Maybe we’re a little bit stuck in the way we do things; we kind of did it old-school and thought we were going in the right direction. But I don’t know.”

Whitford isn’t sure how the experience might shape their future album sessions. “We still have a lot of creative juices flowing,” he says. “Maybe we’ll experiment a bit more in the writing process. Maybe we need to bring in some more contemporary people to work with, and maybe take a few twists and turns. I don’t know.”

Steven Tyler tells RollingStone.com that he is hopeful producer Rick Rubin will be involved in the making of the AEROSMITH vocalist's upcoming solo album, which is tentatively due next year.

"I'm working on it," he said about his solo disc. "I just got back from Russia. Tour was over last week, so I set up my studio, and I had dinner with Rick Rubin last night."

He added: "We did do 'Walk This Way' with RUN-D.M.C. That was [Rubin's] idea."

Tyler recently told The Pulse Of Radio that his plans to go out on his own should not be a cause of concern for AEROSMITH fans. "I'm just doing a solo record because I think it's kinky, you know, to go write a song with Johnny Depp," he said. "I think it's ridiculous to go, you know, write a bunch of songs that I started five years ago and never finished. It feeds my passion, you know. But, no, the band's not breaking up. Me doing a solo record doesn't mean the band's not working on a record, you know what I mean? But I get that in the press one has to hear that from one lead singer of one AEROSMITH."
