Orange Goblin are very proud to announce a new era for the band with the signing to world renowned metal label, Candlelight Records. The number of vastly successful bands on the Candlelight roster is testament to the quality and the hard work that everyone involved in the label has shown us and we are very excited about settling down in a new home after the label problems we have encountered in the past few years. It’s an honour to be on such an esteemed label alongside bands that have inspired us since the bands inception. I believe that with the Candlelight team behind Orange Goblin we can concentrate on writing the best material of our career and continue to tour as much as possible, hopefully reaching parts of the world that Orange Goblin is yet to plunder! We have already started writing new material for a release in 2009 and OG fans, in fact metal fans in general, are gonna love how the new stuff is sounding. It’s gonna be a hugh combination of Sabbath-inspired doom, filthy biker blues and more of the familiar booze-ridden Goblin groove.........Hold tight!” – Ben Ward 2008

Over the last ten years, since their formation in the late night drinking holes of London’s Soho, the band have risen to the very pinnacle of what they do and played a major role in inspiring a whole crop of today’s snotty upstarts such as Raging Speedhorn, Charger, 3 Inches Of Blood, Viking Skull, Kylesa, Torche, Baroness and more. The Orange Goblin reputation as an awesome live band has seen them share the stage all over the world with the likes of Alice Cooper, Heaven & Hell, Kreator, Queens of the Stone Age, Danzig, Monster Magnet, Nashville Pussy, Cathedral, Nebula, Unida,Alabama Thunderpussy, Dio, Grand Magus, Witchcraft and many more. Over the years Orange Goblin have gained great maturity, due, in part, to the gruelling touring schedule that saw them conquer firstly the whole of Europe, a few times, and then headline a hugely successful first U.S tour, alongside Alabama Thunderpussy, that saw them play sell out shows in New York, Chicago and the famous Troubadour in Los Angeles. There was also a successful trip to the far-east with 3 sold-out shows in Japan, along the way.

The band have always been able to work with their favourite producers in the studio, including Dave Chang, Scott Reeder of Kyuss fame and the master of all things heavy, Billy Anderson. Each of these have been able to get the best from Orange Goblin and captured the weight and ferocity of the live onslaught. In 2004 Orange Goblin embarked on their biggest headlining world tour to date and proved to be a raging success everywhere they went. Again there were packed out shows at world famous venues like CBGB’s in New York, Chicago’s Double Door and the band headlined the notorious Emissions from the Monolith festival in Youngstown, Ohio for the second time.

After celebrating their 10 year anniversary with a sold-out show at the Underworld in London which received a 5K review in Kerrang!, the band headlined another US Tour with the mighty Scissorfight and began work on what would become their next album on new label Sanctuary Records. 'Healing Through Fire' was another slab of Sabbathian-Doom, punk-fuelled aggression and pure Heavy-Metal Thunder that earned rave reviews the world over and saw the band land a slot at the 2007 Download Festival at Castle Donington and support slots in Europe with Heaven & Hell. Orange Goblin also embarked on another headline tour of Northern Europe at the end of 2007, stole the show at the Damnation Festival as well as festivals all over the continent, recorded a coveted BBC session at the world famous Maida Vale studio (which was later aired on the BBC Radio 1 Rock Show) and ended the year with a sell-out show at the London Carling Academy.

DEFIANCE SIGNS TO CANDLELIGHT

London: Candlelight Records today announces the signing of Oakland, California based Defiance. The band currently featuring vocalist Steev Esquivel (Skinlab), guitarist Jim Adams, bassist Mike Kaufmann and drummer Mark Hernandez (Vio-lence, Forbidden) has started early tracking of their new album at Trident Studios and Greendot Studios in East Bay, California. The currently untitled album is expected for Spring 2009 release.

Formed in 1985, Defiance have recorded three albums all for Roadrunner Records - Product of Society (1989, produced by Jeff Waters/Annihilator), Void Terra Firma (1990, produced by John Cuniberti), and Beyond Recognition (1992, produced by Rob Beaton). In 1994 the members put Defiance on hiatus allowing them opportunity to work on outside projects. In 2005 after requests from fans and new vigor on the part of band members, Defiance reunited. In an interview with popular portal Metal-Temple.com Mike Kaufmann reveals, "We have received lots of messages from fans who have said they would love to hear some new Defiance. We always felt the band broke up too early so we plan to use this opportunity to pick up where we left off."

Defiance along with their fellow mosh pit peers of the 80's (Testament, Exodus, Death Angel) contributed to the rise and immense popularity of thrash metal for over a decade. In recent years with the reformations of many of the classic bands, fans have been given opportunity to re-embrace the aggressive sound of the American-flavor of the genre.

Defiance plan to finish recording of their Candlelight debut by year's end. The band expects to announce touring plans in the early part of 2009.

CORPUS CHRISTII signs to Candlelight Records

With the main aims of spreading the Word of Satan and to raise Torment over this Earth, Corpus Christii has been releasing works of audio terror since 1998. Being the first Portuguese band to expand internationally in a more broad way than they had been done before, Corpus Christii have reached out to a vastly spread audience on all continents through their releases but also through numerous live-gigs over Europe.
The back-catalogue consists of 12 releases in various formats (tape, CD, vinyl) of which 5 are full-length albums. The band has passed through different Eras in the creations, the first one being the more primitive side with “Saeculum Domini”. Thereafter going into a more technical state with “The Fire God” and most recently, the conceptual “Torment”-trilogy where dynamics and built in symbolisms reflect themselves throughout the lyrics as well as the music.
In a near future the mini-CD “Carving A Pyramid Of Thoughts” is being released and the creation of a new album is to begin during the end of 2008.

Season of Mist is proud to announce the freshly inked deal the label signed with play Slavonic heathen metal band DRUDKH. Their cinematic, folk-influenced music focuses on a strong atmosphere with a lot of feeling, and the lyrical contents are about nature mysticism, seasons, philosophy, Ukrainian mythology, legends and history. Many of the band's lyrics are derived from the works of nineteenth and twentieth centuries Ukrainian poets.

DRUDKH decided to issue this one public statement only. They will also in future stick to their general rule, which means that DRUDKH will not be giving interviews nor make use of any internet platform:

"During all its history, the band followed a 'no photos, no interviews, no website, no gigs' policy, which was nobly accepted by DRUDKH's new label Season of Mist. The absence of any comments or information from DRUDKH's side gave an opening to a few ignorant internet warrior-fans to spread rumors, that the band embraces some extreme political views. This is absolutely misleading and a total profanation, since there is nothing in DRUDKH's music or lyrics that would suggest any political outlook. DRUDKH praise individualism, self-improvement and estrangement from modern values."

DRUDKH's upcoming album, whose title will be announced shortly, is set to an early 2009 release.

"French Metal band ADAGIO sign with Listenable for the release of its upcoming album “ Archangels In Black” expected in February 2009.

Four years after the release of it’s latest album “Dominate”, Adagio is about to introduce its new sound to the worldwide Metal scene. “Archangels In Black” features an absolutely new portrait of the band, keeping the essence of what makes it’s personality but in a more direct and heavier way: “Our respective lives and the band are inseparable, and as a consequence, whichever way we’re personally evolving slightly transforms Adagio.”

Lifeforce Records signs SENECA

Lifeforce Records is proud to announce the addition of Charlotte, NC's SENECA to their roster!

Formed in 2002, SENECA have been hard at work creating a name for themselves over the past six years. Since the release of their first "Self-Titled" full-length in 2004, SENECA has indeed seen the true colors of their musical identity brought to light in the subsequent years. Although their first album was received with an abundance of positive fan and critical response, Seneca was determined to evolve from both a musical and creative standpoint. In order to do so, the band spent the next few years concentrating primarily on writing new material and building their already solid fan-base through several U.S. tours.

Early – Mid 2009 will see the release of the band's Lifeforce debut and second full-length LP entitled "Reflections." Mixed, mastered, and produced by genre stalwart Jaime King (Between the Buried and Me, Glass Casket, Beneath the Sky), "Reflections" offers a unique blend of lyrical sincerity, sweeping melody, and vicious anger.

As an added bonus for long time fans and new fans alike, there will be a limited edition pressing of "Reflections" that will include a free bonus disc of the band's first 2004 Self-Titled full length record, re-mixed and re-mastered by Jamie King himself.

You can check out a couple tracks from "Reflections" at the band's Myspace page:

THE PROJECT HATE, the Swedish band featuring vocalist Jörgen Sandström (ex-ENTOMBED, GRAVE), guitarist Lord K. Philipson (GOD AMONG INSECTS, ex-LEUKEMIA), bassist Michael Håkansson (ENGEL, ex-EVERGREY), singer Jo Enckell (IGNORANCE BLISS), drummer Daniel "Mojjo" Moilanen (RELEVANT FEW, DRACENA, RUNEMAGICK, LORD BELIAL, ENGEL) and guitarist Anders Bertilsson (RUIN, COLDWORKER) has inked a deal with Vic Records. The group's as-yet-untitled new album is tentatively scheduled for a late spring/early summer 2009 release.

Commented the band: "Vic Records from The Netherlands is a strong up-and-coming label that finally got their shit going. They have shown interest in THE PROJECT HATE for quite some time and now when the label is rolling we gladly accepted their offer and decided to be a part of their roster. Head honcho Roel is an old acquaintance of K's which definitely played a huge part when it came down to signing to a label for the next album(s). We believe Vic Records has the tools to finally give TPH the marketing and promotion we deserve. It's a great feeling to know how much Roel and his company burns for what we do musically, and also knowing that we are a priority for them feels fantastic. We definitely have a nice vibe for this collaboration and our first album for Vic Records is in the making as we announce this relationship of satanic proportions and unholy bodily fluids. Eh, we don't even know what that means. Anyways, here are some plans for you, straight from the mouth of HATE.

"Vocalist Jörgen Sandström will start doing his vocals in a few weeks or so and will work with them from time to time during the rest of the year and probably for a bit of 2009 depending on how much time he can get on his hands. Once he enters the studio he does his stuff faster than a blastbeat so just keep your fingers crossed he can wrap his vocal sessions up as soon as possible.

"Drums will be done in Örebro, Sweden, January 2009. We are checking back and forth for a weekend that will suit us all and we are getting there. Just some final details to nail, but January is when the drums will be recorded and this will happen in www.studioseven.se, a studio owned by Saint Deamon, ex-DIONYSUS drummer Ronny Milianosonovabitch-something... We are definitely looking forward to record those toms with him.

"Jonna's vocals will be done during four days in January, 2009 as well. Once again we will enter vocal coach Robban's (whom we have worked with during the past two albums) studio and bring down the heavens and whatnot with some diabolical serenades courtesy of Ms. Jo. We are working on the final dates with this too, but January is determined.

"Michael will put down his bass in his home studio whenever he's got the time. And you all know Michael — there will be some insane bass work done.

"This means that we should have everything completed to be delivered to Dan Swanö sometime in late January, early February if everything goes down as planned. We have lived with this material for quite some time now and we have made small adjustments to it all the time, to perfect it even more (perfect perfection, does that even work?). We can guarantee you one fantastic piece of blasphemy when Vic Records release this piece sometime in May/June (if all the schedules work out as planned now). It's definitely the most brutal stuff we have ever written, and at the same time the most beautiful. We are so confident with these seven tunes it's not even sane. We can't wait to get all of this out to you loyal Haters who always supported us. And to have Vic Records hand it out to you feels like a blessing at this stage as they can actually get the album out to stores with their distribution (something we are not exactly spoiled with)."

Y'a peut etre une chance qu'on les trouve facilement maintenant...
