Frontiers Records is pleased to announce Whitesnake's highly anticipated live concert "Made In Japan" - released on Deluxe 2CD/DVD Edition, Blu-ray and DVD in the UK on Monday April 22nd (North American release is Tuesday April 23rd).
Multi-platinum rock band Whitesnake co-headlined the "Loud Park" festival on October 15th 2011 at Saitama Super Arena in Japan during their "Forevermore World Tour."
The performance was initially recorded for Japanese TV and future Loud Park promotions, but after three songs were broadcast on a Loud Park highlights program in Japan, Whitensake received unprecedented requests for this performance to be made available for general release.
Having spent most of 2012 editing and mixing the Japanese concert in stunning HD as a multi format DVD-CD in 5.1 and stereo, just prior to commencing the 'Year Of The Snake' 2013 World Tour, this exceptional performance is a welcome addition to the history of Whitesnake live releases. Now fans can relive the irresistible magic of Whitesnake in concert any time their heart and loins may desire!
The 'Forevermore' songs alone are worth the price of admission, not forgetting the classic Whitesnake songs, "Is This Love," "Still Of The Night" and "Here I Go Again," all peformed at the height of their musical powers. It's all here. This is what Whitesnake fans, new and old, have been clamouring for. Highlights include blistering guitar work from the band's six string guitar slingers, Doug Aldrich and Reb Beach, who both celebrate their 10th anniversary with the band this year.
Whitesnake also features the earth-shaking rhythm section, The Wrecking Crew featuring Michael Devin (bass) and Briian Tichy (drums), who anchor the deep and dirty foundation of Whitesnake. The band is accompanied by the swirling sonic tapestries of special guest keyboardist Brian Ruedy, and of course, the chest beating, seductive vocals of front man and founder, David Coverdale.
After hearing the sound check recordings from the different Japanese venues, the band decided to include them in the package as special bonus content. They agreed that everything would be related to their 2011 Japanese tour. So, when you think about it, it is appropriate they've called the project "Made In Japan."
Another amazing night to remember and to share with all the fans!

Aldrich a écrit: |
"As there is still some question regarding my situation with Whitesnake, I want to officially clear the air.
"On May 7 I made the insanely difficult decision to leave. Although not contractually bound I've moved on with David, starting pre-production for an upcoming Whitesnake project. I also had several recording and live commitments, so I needed a flexible schedule to conclude these before going full force as normal. Unfortunately, my schedule was not workable."
He describes the early fruits of the Whitesnake project as "extremely positive and fun" – which only added to the difficulty of his choice.
But he continues: "This is a new beginning. I'll definitely be working on new music, recording and touring – and I'll have a bit more time to pursue some offers that I never had time to fit in before."
The guitarist thanks his former bandmates and fans for their support, hailing Coverdale for his integrity and adding: "It was an honour to maintain that standard while I was in.
"Like lots of great things, it has come to an end. I treasured my 11-plus years in the band – two studio records, two DVDs, three live records and roughly 30 Coverdale/Aldrich songs!
"thank you, brother DC, for the great times, and for allowing me space to put my heart and soul into the history of your great band." |
Vandenberg a écrit: |
"David and I will do something in the future, whether it's with the two of us acoustically, or whether it's a blues album, a rock album or a tour.
"We're too good friends not to do it, and we have much fun working together."
He describes his time with Whitesnake as "a great period of time," adding: "We were really successful – but the most important thing for me is enjoying making music in a great band. That's what we did."
And he says he was never a victim of Coverdale's allegedly difficult attitude. "It's David's band, and I respect that. But I never felt it as a 'boss' situation. We were really good friends.
"He takes his work very seriously, and if there's somebody in the band who doesn't, then he gets pissed off. He thinks everybody should be as focused and as serious about music as he is. That's how I am too, so that's why we got along very well."
Vandenberg summaries his attitude to a reunion as "never say never." But he states: "It has to be next to Moonkings – not instead of." |

"Ladies & Gentlemen...Boys & Girls...Your Attention, Please...
One of the first, if not the first, guitarists to put his name forward after hearing that Doug Aldrich had left the band, was an exceptionally talented musician whom we had met briefly last year when his band opened for Whitesnake in Arizona.
Everyone was very impressed by him, not only for his ability to play amazing guitar, but, also, his very agreeable personality & he was definitely foremost in our minds when we began to search for Doug’s replacement in Whitesnake.
We jammed together & were mutually impressed enough to ask him to join Whitesnake on the spot. This was May 30th. 2014.
Joel is currently fulfilling his remaining tour dates with Night Ranger.
We sincerely thank you all for your patience & understanding...& so, without further ado, we ask you to welcome, as we have done, our exceptionally gifted new Snake Brother...

WHITESNAKE's 'Live In '84 - Back To The Bone' DVD/CD Due In November
WHITESNAKE fans worldwide now have something to be excited about! To celebrate the 30th anniversary of WHITESNAKE's multi-platinum "Slide It In" album, Frontiers Music Srl, the Italian-based label, will release "Live In '84 - Back To The Bone", a complete celebration of the group's awe-inspiring lineup during what many feel was the incredible beginning of what singer David Coverdale called his desire to make WHITESNAKE more "electrifying" on record and on stage.
Set for release in Europe on November 7 and in North America on November 11, this set will be available on DVD and a deluxe CD/DVD edition.
Culled from audio and video recordings and unheard demos from the private collection of WHITESNAKE leader and vocalist David Coverdale, the release offers an ultra-rare collection of material, performed by the band's acclaimed '83-'84 lineups. Featured on the record and driven by the awesome Cozy Powell on drums (RAINBOW, MSG, GARY MOORE, BLACK SABBATH); unique guitarist John Sykes, whom Coverdale credits with inspiring a whole generation of six-stringers after his breathtaking work on the WHITESNAKE "1987" album and bassist extraordinaire Neil Murray. There is also an extraordinary emotional bonus content featuring legendary keyboardist Jon Lord performing his last show ever with WHITESNAKE on video and also the bonus CD.
"It's still hard for me to find the words when remembering that half the incredible band who originally recorded the 'Slide It In' album with me have passed away," says Coverdale. "It's incredibly difficult to articulate: Cozy Powell... Mel Galley... Jon Lord… All amazing people and amazing musicians. Their memories live on in our hearts and in the music they made. I miss them beyond words… Wait until you see and hear them playing as only they can and add in the fiery guitar assault of the incredibly gifted John Sykes, plus the relentless melodic bass pounding of Neil Murray."
Coverdale and co-producer Michael McIntyre launched a worldwide search for the best-quality video footage and audio tracks from the 1984 tour. Among the gems found was a set from Super-Rock, recorded at the first Japanese rock festival at Seibu Stadium in Tokyo and an invaluable video of Jon Lord's final appearance with WHITESNAKE recorded live in Sweden. "All of the features on this package have been treated lovingly and respectfully, with no expense spared, utilizing technology to improve sound and picture quality," says Coverdale, who personally oversaw all elements of this release.
Concludes Coverdale, "These are memories I treasure and delight in sharing with you as we continue our celebration of the 30th anniversary of WHITESNAKE's 'Slide It In'."
