Sydney, Australia’s premier extreme metal unit, THE AMENTA recently announced the departure of vocalist Jarrod Krafczyk and bassist Dale Harrison. The two have been replaced by Cain Cressall (MALIGNANT MONSTER) and Dan Quinlan (PAIN DIVISION) respectively. THE AMENTA will showcase its new lineup at Against The Grain Festival (September 19th), and a series of Australian shows before the band embarks on the Monsters of Death Tour in North America this fall with VADER, DECREPIT BIRTH, WARBRINGER, AUGURY and S.W.W.A.A.T.S. Keyboardist Timothy Pope made the following remarks on the lineup changes:
“Firstly we would like to thank Jarrod and Dale for all their hard work for the band. They both put in amazing effort throughout their time with us. We would also like to congratulate Dale on his impending fatherhood. The split was very amicable and we wish them all the best. That said we are very excited to have Cain and Dan on board.
“Dan has been a friend for a long time and has worked with us a sound engineer in the past.. He is a great bass player and his touring experience with PAIN DIVISION as well as his vocal abilities means that Dan has already become an invaluable asset to THE AMENTA.
“Cain was our one and only choice when we parted ways with Jarrod. We played with his band MALIGNANT MONSTER in Perth early this year and his performance was a very hard act to follow. He has an amazingly versatile voice coupled with the best stage presence we have ever seen. I know that with these two on board THE AMENTA will be the strongest we’ve ever been.
“We are very excited to embark on our first ever North American tour. To be sharing a stage with our friends in Vader again will be amazing and I am looking forward to seeing the other bands in action. We are looking forward to showing off our new line up and I know that we are going to blow some minds.
“After the tour we are going to get stuck into writing the follow up to last years, “n0n”. I’m not sure what direction the album will take yet but you can rest assured that it will be extreme, challenging and unlike anything we, or anyone else, has done before.
“It’s been a great year for THE AMENTA and the Monsters of Death tour is the perfect end. Prepare yourselves North America. You haven’t seen anything like us before.”

Le plus dur dans cette rupture, c'était pas tant l'effacer de ma vie, c'était surtout effacer les 4 To de film porno qu'on avait tourné tous les deux. Multicam, 1080p, son 5.1... Y avait plus de place sur le disque dur après la séquence d'intro. Mais une si belle séquence d'intro. J'allais pas effacer ça. |

I have followed your discussions on the board and I know that you are frustrated that we are not updating, we are of course sorry that we have left you hanging without knowing what's going on for a long time. I'm writing this so that you will be able to understand what's going on at the moment
So here we go.
In 2007 we decided to take a break from the band. At the time all of us were really unmotivated at rehearsals. And as nothing good comes out of being unmotivated we decided to take a break and start it up again whenever we felt that the energy was back. During this break both me and Jerry were writing music and last year we decided it was time to get back to rehearsing and to try the new material. Getting everybody to be at the same place at the same time was a bit difficult as everybody was either working full time or studying or had other projects that they were working on. And some of us now had famillies to take care of. But after a few rehearsals we all felt that the motivation was starting to come back.
This led to a very creative period of fooling around with new material and we decided that we absolutely had to make another album, we simply could not let these wonderful songs be for our own ears only. We wanted you to follow the developement so we recorded some videos for you to watch and I promised to give you weekly updates. Then all of a sudden we went completely quiet again.
There were things happening concerning the band that wasn't very positive, it had nothing to do with the five of us, we were still great friends. But the things happening made us once again loose all the energy and motivation because we were completely back from scratch with everything. It's very hard to motivate yourself when you have played together for 15 years and everything is working against you! Since we could not go into detail what was happening we really did not have any news for you. I think we rehearsed last time in may this year. So since May there has been nothing to write about.
So were are we today? The band still exists and we have decided to make another album, but we can't say when or were it will be out. By being back from scratch I mean being back at scrath, we need to find someone who is willing to finance it and we need to find someone who wants to realease it. Another option is to release and finance it ourselves, which we might do, but this also means you will have to be patient. It could take 6 months or it could take 6 years. We might start working on it tomorrow, we might start next year, I can't say at the moment.
But, we have actually started to rehearse again, we have a gig coming up in October in Trondheim, and we are working hard on the setlist right now. I really hope I will see some of you there, it would be amazing!
We have talked about closing this forum but we wanted to check with you guys first and hear what you think about that? If we close, all news concerning the band will be moved to our myspace and our facebook page. There will be a new webpage when the album is starting to take shape.

| Methods of Mayhem, la nouvelle signature Loud & Proud / Roadrunner, vient d’annoncer un concept réellement “interactif” pour son album. Le groupe mené par Tommy Lee invite ses fans à les aider à enregistrer l’album. Les fans auront également une chance de se produire avec le groupe lors du concert célébrant la sortie de l’album. A part Dup' qui de toute façon n'est pas là, tout le monde s'en bat les steaks, mais Manni Schmidt a quitté GRAVE DIGGER. Ou p'têt qu'on l'a incité à se barrer, vu que le communiqué fait explicitement état de désaccord entre Manni et Chris.

A band like GRAVE DIGGER has to develop constantly. The problem is that this is only possible if the musicians have the same goal and the same attitude.
And they have to feel good with what they are doing.
If you have some permanent stress in the band, there is no more productive work possible and in the long run the music suffers from this situation.
Unfortunately there were so many disagreements recently building up between Manni and Chris, that this would affect the productivity and creativity in a bad way.
Because of all this Manni decided to leave GRAVE DIGGER.
This happened by mutual consent . We wish Manni all the best for the future and say thank you for many nice and eventful years.
But we also have some good news : There is no effect on the concerts that are already booked.
The last word about the replacement guitar player is not spoken yet. "We first want to wait for the results of the rehearsals. After this we will introduce you to the replacement guitarist. We already spoke to a possible candidate and we will start the rehearsals in the next days."
